About us
Antalya, situated on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast, has 300.000 decares of land under glasshouses and is a major production centre for fresh fruit and vegetables.
Agreco, an incorporated company based in Kumluca, was founded in 2002 to export locally grown fruit and vegetables.
As Antalya is a major tourist destination, there is a good infrastructure for road, sea and air travel already in place.
As a result of tourism there are regular flights from Antalya to all major European cities everyday.
Agreco, an environmentally friendly company, places great importance on the health of its customers and only markets produce that is grown according to the principles of sustainable agriculture.
Agreco has the infrastructure necessary to supply fresh fruit and vegetables of the required quality and in keeping with standards of the importing country.
Agreco technically monitors the produce it exports from sowing to harvesting and has been awarded the EurepGAP certificate, which places the utmost importance on public health.
Agreco, by remaining true to these principles and by recognising the importance the environment and of public health, has been awarded the EurepGAP certificate (which is committed to sustainable agriculture) for fresh vegetables every year since 2003 and for fresh fruit every year since 2005.
Agreco has 50 producers of fresh vegetables with 100 hectares certified by EurepGAP and 15 producers of fresh fruit (apricots and pomegranates) with 120 hectares certified by EurepGAP. The production practices at these farms are periodically inspected and recorded by an authorised agricultural engineer.
Agreco, with its integrated production system, planning and research and development work, it is doing everything necessary to become a worldwide trademark.
Agreco can supply supermarkets with produce pre packed in small packages (0,3-0,5kg flaw packs).
Agreco is at present exporting fruit such as apricots, quince, peaches, pomegranates, grapes and oranges and the main glasshouse vegetables (such as Hungarian pepper, capia pepper, vine tomatoes and cocktail tomatoes) mainly to European Union countries.
Agreco supplies all the fruit and vegetables for the Turkish branches of the supermarket chain Tesco-Kipa.
Agreco has its headquarters in Kumluca with a 2500m2 covered facility and a cold storage depot with a 500 ton capacity. It is capable of processing 5000 tons of fresh vegetables a year.
Agreco has a second facility in Malatya’s 2nd Organised Industrial Estate to process fresh apricots for export. It consists of 1,800 m2 cover facility built on a 14,000 m2 site. It contains a 500 ton capacity cold storage depot. In the fresh apricot season (July and August) it can process 1,000 tons of apricots.
Agreco cordially invites all interested parties to avail of our hospitality in Turkey’s tourism capital Antalya, where we can get to know each other better.
